The new EP by Flying Shears is a bit of a nostalgia trip.
2 of the songs recall trips to California in the early 90s and the sights around the coast and the memories that stay long after, while the opening instrumental is based on a track called ‘The More I Thought About It’ that was released on the FS album ‘Nothing Much To Do’ The track was originally called ‘Blondes’ but changed after new lyrics were written but I always like the melody at the end so did a little instrumental piece which starts this EP off.
The track ‘This Play Has Closed’ is a hark back to the classic synth sounds of the 70s with hints of the ‘Persuaders’ TV Theme sound and the title track is a dark Depeche Mode sounding track to end the 5 tracks.
